Working families in San Francisco deserve world-class City services—and the people who provide them should be able to care for ourselves and our loved ones. We must fight back against unnecessary cuts to safety, public services, and healthcare that are dangerous for us all.

Budgeting isn’t a game—it impacts each of San Francisco's workers and residents.

Despite the $2.8 billion balance in San Francisco’s General Fund and years of total revenues outpacing expenses, Mayor Breed has ordered City departments to cut 3.5% from their budgets in each of the next two years. These budget cuts have drastic consequences for vital services that are already underfunded and understaffed, and the people who depend on them.

Dear Mayor London Breed,

I am alarmed by the budget cuts being ordered by your office. Working families in San Francisco deserve world-class City services—and the people who provide them should be able to care for ourselves and our loved ones.

These budget cuts will put the health and safety of City workers and residents in harm's way. Many crucial City departments are already extremely short-staffed. In critical departments across the City, staff are doing the work of 2-3 people.

Please stand with City residents and workers and stop these dangerous and unnecessary budget cuts.
