District management has already proposed a five-year wage freeze and healthcare takeaways to the educators in collective bargaining with Sacramento City Teachers Association (SCTA). While to date, District management has not responded to the proposals we have put forth (including for wage increases), we already have a good idea what's in store for us: a proposal for a wage freeze and benefits cuts; when we reject those, they will issue pink slips in March to try to coerce us into accepting their cuts.
This is unacceptable. SCUSD schools, students, and employees deserve better.
