Fight for Fairness, Justice, and Equality at Hayward Unified School District

Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) has received multiple complaints from SEIU 1021 members reporting their experiences of discrimination, racism, bigotry, hostile work environments, and unethical business practices at the hands of a specific middle manager in the Facility Operations Supervisor position.

Remove the Racist Facility Operations Supervisor from HUSD

HUSD has a long and detailed history of hiring and promoting bad managers who have caused extensive amounts of harm to Black, brown, and API workers through their racist and discriminatory work practices like embarrassing workers in front of their colleagues, intimidating workers with aggressive language, and showing favoritism to workers white counterparts.

The numerous reports of discrimination and racism that have been shared with HUSD have resulted in little to no accountability on the part of management, which sends the message to workers that HUSD is reinforcing the toxic culture workers are experiencing.

Fight for equality, justice, and fairness for workers and show the HUSD Board of Education that we do not tolerate instances of racism, sexism, or discrimination of any kind by signing
the petition to call for the immediate removal of the Facilities Operations Supervisor.

Dear HUSD Board of Education,

I am signing this petition because I stand in solidarity with the workers of HUSD who have been discriminated against, bullied, and humiliated at the hands of a specific middle manager in the Facility Operations Supervisor position at HUSD.

Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) has received multiple complaints from SEIU 1021 members reporting their experiences of discrimination, racism, bigotry, hostile work environments, and unethical business practices.

We stand in solidarity with the workers and do not support any entity that tolerates instances of racism, sexism, or discrimination of any kind. We are calling for the immediate removal of the Facility Operations Manager to prevent more harm from being done.

We ask HUSD and the Board of Education to create policies and processes that include workers in the hiring process for middle managers to end the cycle of harm.

If you believe in equality, justice, and fairness for HUSD workers, you will support our demands.
